Porcelain figure from a collection designed and produced after the Revolutions of 1848, after the accession of a new (and very young) emperor. The figure was likely based on Johann Ranzi’s official portrait of the new emperor.

Johann Ranzi: Emperor Franz Joseph in a white uniform tunic with the order and sash of the Order of Maria Theresa, 1851, oil painting.
